The DTF is a committee of parents and faculty whose work is best described in the Mission Statement adopted in 2002, during the first year of the committee.

The Bay Farm Montessori Academy Diversity Task Force seeks to promote the awareness and appreciation of the variety of human experience in our community and in the world. The Diversity Task Force will sponsor initiatives to explore and share information about diverse backgrounds and experiences among children and adults in our community and beyond. We aim to foster a community in which compassion flourishes along with individuality and in which mutual respect promotes the common goal of preparing our children for the dynamically diverse world they will inherit, inhabit and impact.

The work of the DTF meshes beautifully with the curriculum and peaceful work of the Montessori classrooms which teach students a high degree of respect for the world and all the living things in it.
