Performances

Self-expression and self-confidence form the foundation of our arts program. Students from age 3 and up are invited to participate in the many performances which make Bay Farm Montessori Academy extraordinary. There are as many as 26 performances per year thanks to the incredible team of specialists in our arts program. An integral part of the curriculum from kindergarten through grade six, these performances give students the opportunity to acclimate themselves to the stage and public eye. This experience combined with many others helps students to become confident, self-assured leaders, and is also a great expression of their creativity and personality.

The performances and visual arts are often closely tied to the study taking place in the classroom. For instance, when the kindergarteners are studying the human body, they may be preparing for a performance of "Bones".

Some examples of our performances are listed below:

  • Musical Plays - learn about Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart
  • "Scrooge" - annual musical performance of the classic adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol"
  • Kindergarten Halloween songs
  • Thimble Theater - extracurricular theater to interest our youngest aspiring actors
  • Spring play which has included "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" - musical version of Roald Dahl's yummy tale Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and "The Wizard of Oz"
  • Ballet Recitals
  • Talent Show - singers, dancers, performers come together to share their finest pieces
  • Holiday Performances - Learn of the many celebrations around the world with music and dancing
  • Historical Plays - from the likes of Julius Caesar, Zeus, the founders of our nation and more, students display their talent and knowledge
  • Northern Lights - celebrate the culture of many nations with dances, songs, facts and costumes
